For the first 6 days there was no sleep, just balls to the wall rigging and unrigging, trying to stay in the saddle with a 7 knot current broadside. One diver was crushed checking out broken keel in the coral. Fought nurse sharks for two days. Slept for three days with the corpsman checking on us. Back to work with fang tooth (CTF-73 ) on our butts. After taking off all ammo, stores, fuels, Guns, deck gear, Etc. We completely foamed the inside of the ship, pushing the water out and making it buoyant again. At leased enough
to take a full strain and pull it back over the reef. Had to tow it backwards to keep from sinking.
